    Play Situation in another State

Think about this play that occured elsewhere in a 10-9 ball game with less than a minute remaining.

The visitors (who had the 9 points) where receiving a punt.  R 28 gave an invalid fair catch signal at the 3 yard line, and then retreated into the end zone where he caught the punt.

The officiating crew awarded a touchback, put the ball on the twenty and then penalized five yards.  Was this correct?  If not, what should have the enforcement been?

I will provide the answers next week.

Foul occured during the kick and R was going to be the next team to put the ball in play. That makes it a PSK foul. Basic spot on loose ball plays is previous spot, except PSK. In PSK the basic spot is the spot where the kick ends. (Endzone) It should be a five yard penalty on R from the 20. First and 10 for R from their 15 yard line.

The crew did a perfect job!

    (unless I'm wrong)
